The Ferns Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes
..takes place from 17th. to 22nd May 2008 when over 1100 people, led by Bishop Denis
Brennan, will visit the holy shrine during this Jubilee year, the 150th. anniversary of
the Apparitions. You may not be able to travel but you are encouraged to join the pilgrims
in prayer. The theme of the pilgrimage this year is "Nourished by the
Eucharist".
Let us pray. In Lourdes Mary proclaimed herself as the "Immaculate
Conception". This is a cry of hope: evil, sin and death are no longer victors. Our
Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. St. Bernadette, pray for us.
Bunclody Horticultural Society
Coffee Morning & Plant Sale. St. Aidans Hall, Irish St.,
Bunclody. Saturday, April 26th. 10am to 1pm. Bring along those plants youve thinned
from your borders or those youve just become tired of: garden magazines, books,
useful bric-a-brac, etc, someone will make good use of them.
Irish Dancing Classes
Starting on the Tuesday, 22nd April, in the Sunday School, Church Rd.
From 5 to 6pm. Boys and girls aged four and upwards welcome.

Members who are interested in going on the Wicklow Way Day Trip on 29th
May. Visiting Parnells House, Avoca Mills, Powerscourt, Roundwood, Laragh and
Rathdrum. Cost 55 incl. Coach, tour and Diner. Please give names to Kathleen Murphy
at 087-9623132. Money will be collected at next meeting.
The Irish Wheelchair Association
Will hold its Annual Church Gate Collection on the weekend of 26/27
April, 2008. The funds raised will help the association to continue and expand on a wide
range of essential services for people with physical disabilities in Co. Wexford.
A "NO EXCUSES" SUNDAY
"To make it possible for everyone to attend Mass next Sunday, we are having a
special :No Excuses" Sunday: "Beds will be placed in the aisle for all those who
say, "Sunday is the only day Im able to sleep in late." "Eye drops
will be provided for all those who watch TV too late on Saturday night. "Steele
helmets will be handed out to all those who say, "The roof will fall in if I ever
come to church!"
"Blankets will be provided for all those who say, "The church is too
cold," and fans for those who say "Its too hot." "We will have
hearing aids for all those who say, "The Priest speaks too softly," and ear
plugs for those who say, "The organist plays to loudly."
"Score cards will be available for all those who find it difficult to attend
church and prepare the Sunday lunch at the same time. "One section of the church will
be devoted to trees and grass for those who like to see God in nature.
"Finally, the church will be decorated with Christmas decorations and Easter
flowers for those who have never seen the church without them!"
