FERNS DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES

42nd Annual Pilgrimage 17th – 22nd May.

The pilgrimage will be led by Most Rev. Denis Brennan. Pilgrimage Director is Rev. Richard Lawless C.C. All Bookings to O’Leary’s Travel Agency on 053 9233178

Assisted Pilgrims:

Application Forms are available from the Parish Office Bunclody & Rev. R. O’ Neill C.C. The Presbytery Cross Street, New Ross, Co., Wexford. 051 447081 Forms must be submitted by 1st March 2010.

If you would like to help the work of the Assisted Pilgrim Section of the Pilgrimage, you can do so by supporting our Annual Draw. Tickets will be on sale throughout the Diocese. Money raised in this draw is used to help sick pilgrims travel to Lourdes.

The priests of parish would like to thank all those who have already returned their Christmas Dues. Thank you for your much valued support in 2009. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

..will be held on this Sunday 17th January from 2 - 5 p.m. in Church of St Mary Magdalene Kilmyshall. On Monday 18th January there will be no Mass in Kilmyshall

A Parenting Course

..will be held every Thursday for six weeks in the Pastoral Centre beginning Thursday January 28th from 9.30—11.30 a.m. This is a very interesting and practical course which would be of benefit to parents, childminders or anyone involved in caring for children. A pair of ladies gloves were found in the Carlton Millrace Hotel on 18th December after the Bunclody Active Retired Christmas party. Please contact Joan Nally or any member of the committee.

Do this in Memory

..programme for the children preparing for their First Holy Communion continues on Sunday 24th January at 12 noon Mass.

An Evening Prayer service to celebrate the feast of St Aidan, patron saint of the Diocese of Ferns will be held in the Cathedral, Enniscorthy at 7.00 p.m., Sunday 31st Jan. Gathered as Bishop, priests and people, we pray in this Year for Priests for vocations to the diocesan priesthood and religious life. All are welcome.


Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

The Annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is held from Monday 18th to Monday 25th January

This year the Diocesan Ecumenical Service will be held in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity Bunclody on Sunday January 24th 2010 at 7.30 p.m. The Homily will be given by Rev. Nigel Markey, Chaplain of Wesley College.

All are welcome. Please come and bring a friend.


Crisis in Haiti

On Tuesday night an earthquake struck Haiti killing many thousands. In response, Pope Benedict XVI called on ‘ the generosity of all people’ to support those worst affected. He added that ‘the Catholic Church will not fail to move immediately, through her charitable institutions, to meet the most immediate needs of the population’.
