Bunclody ICA - New members needed

It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going by so many wonderful women in the past.

Please phone 087 2805426 or 086 8135587

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

The manner in which Luke identifies in detail the time when John the Baptist started his preaching shows that Luke regarded this as a historic moment. Perhaps you can recall particularly a significant moment in your life, an occasion when you felt called to a change of work, status, or lifestyle?

John called people to give expression to their desire for a change of heart by a symbolic baptism in the Jordan. When have you found it helpful to symbolise your desire to change for the better by some symbolic gesture, e.g., burning a packet of cigarettes, sending a card, making a phone call, etc.

‘A voice crying in the wilderness’ is some-times taken to refer to a voice that is ignored. Pope Francis has issued a call to all of us to take part in the consultation process preparing for the recent Synod. What can you, and your faith community, do to make sure his call is answered.

PARISH MISSION STATEMENT

  • The Parish of Bunclody/Kilmyshall shall be a community:
  • Of renewed faith and commitment to Christ expressed in prayer and genuine Eucharistic worship where all participate fully.
  • With deep respect for and interest in each and every person.
  • Flourishing in love, care, support, co-operation, education and communication, building to the unity of the Body of Christ.
  • Reaching out the hand of welcome to all who do not belong to our faith and worshipping community.
