"In the Thought and Prayers of all
"
In a message to second level students who will begin the Junior and Leaving Certificate
.Bishop Denis Brennan has said that the students of the diocese are "very much in the
thoughts and prayers of all at this time, most especially their parents, their teachers,
their priests, their fellow parishioners and the wider community."
In a word of encouragement to the students themselves, Bishop Brennan said that
students should remember that their true value lies " in who they are
themselves" and that they "should see the exams as but one measure of their
talents and their abilities - an important measure - but not the only one, nor indeed the
most important one."
He offered the students the following prayer adding that he hoped it would help
students to make the best of the opportunities and the challenges that they will face in
the exam halls in the coming weeks: Bishop Brennan asked that prayers continue to be said
in the Churches of the diocese throughout the month of June.
PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE
Lord I know that you love me and have great plans for me. But sometimes I am
overwhelmed by the thought of my future. show me how to walk forward one day at a time.
May I hear your call to a life which will allow me to love as only I can and allow me to
serve others with the special gifts you have given me. Amen.
