Bunclody ICA - New members needed

It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going by so many wonderful women in the past.

Please phone 087 2805426 or 086 8135587

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

"Peace be with you" was the greeting of Jesus on meeting his frightened apostles. Who has come to you bringing peace at times when you were frightened? For whom have you been an agent of peace?

The greeting is followed by Jesus missioning his apostles, and us, to continue his project of spreading the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness. What does it mean t you to see yourself as missioned by Jesus?

Jesus promises the gift of the holy Spirit to empower the disciples to be witness to forgiveness. Forgiveness is at times an essential step on the road to peace. Perhaps you can recall when holding on to a hurt or grudge disturbed your inner peace. What helped you to forgive and find peace?

Thomas, doubting and questioning, is possibly a person with whom we can identify. What pert have doubting, and questioning, played on your faith journey? How has your faith been strengthened by such moments?

"Blessed are they who have not seen and yet believed". That requires great trust. Perhaps you have had the experience of being trusted without having had to prove every step along the way. What was it like to be trusted in that way? Who have you been able to trust in a similar manner?

THE HOOK OF FAITH THIS WEEK

On this ‘Divine Mercy Sunday’ we again proclaim the infinite and beautiful mercy of God that is our final hope. It is a gift that invites us to see it from God’s side as giver and not just our side as receivers. We have an article that identifies why many vocations programmes fail and another that helps preachers and teachers proclaim the resurrection with its full power and impact. Fr Jim Cogley provides us with brief but powerful reflections on the Easter message. We continue with the series ‘The Creed in Slow Motion’ that un-packs the Apostles Creed and finally, we include more light and inspiration from the pen of Lorcan Brennan. Check out these and other resources available at www.thehookoffaith.com
