TWENTY FOUR HOUR ADORATION
On Sunday next, June 11th, the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood
of Christ, at 5:00 pm a twenty four hour period of Adoration begins.
There will be a brief ceremony to mark the start of the Adoration and it
is hoped that people of the whole parish, including Kilmysahall, will
spend one hour before the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration. Sheets will be
left at the end of the churches to enable people to select a suitable
time for them-selves. It is hoped that people will be very generous,
especially in selecting difficult hours. The focus of the period of
Adoration is to pray intensely for vocations to priesthood and Religious
Life in the diocese of Ferns.
The Adoration will take place in the church. All are encouraged to
drop into the church and spend good time in prayer during the period of
Adoration for the purpose mentioned. The Adoration will continue through
Sunday night and all day Monday apart from Mass time. There will be a
brief ceremony to conclude the adoration at 7:45 p.m. on Monday evening.
May this be a great time of blessing for the whole parish.

Bunclody ICA - New members needed
It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has
always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to
keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the
demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new
members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest
speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet
once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do
not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours
to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going
by so many wonderful women in the past.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
This weekend we celebrate the Solemn Feast of the Most Holy Trinity.
This is one of the great mysteries of our faith which is fully beyond
our understanding. It was the Incarnation and the coming of Jesus Christ
as the Son of God which brought the mystery into view. It was Jesus,
especially in St. John’s Gospel, that brought home to us that there are
three persons and still one God. Some of the attempts to understand this
mystery have given us good insight.
The Father stands at the origin of all. But he has generated the Son.
The Son is the perfect image of the Father. He is like the Father in
every detail and in every respect The Father gives himself perfectly to
the Son. The Son. Likewise gives himself to the Father. From that loving
self-giving from one person to the other there emerges a third person,
namely the Holy Spirit, who is the love bond between the Father and the
Son and is equal to Father and Son as divine persons. Jesus as the
Incarnate Son of God who became man gives and understanding of the
self-giving love between the persons of the Trinity, in his total
self-giving to the Father when he surrendered in death on our behalf. A
good image of the Trinity is to be found in the family. There is the
mutual love and self-giving of husband and wife to each other. This in
turn brings to life children and so there emerges the interactive love
of parents and children. The family is a satisfying image of the Trinity
and becomes more like the Trinity as the mutual love of members
increases and develops. That should be our constant prayer that our
family resembles the Trinity in the interactive display of love towards
each other
THE HOOK OF FAITH THIS WEEK
Mary Beary is a member of Wexford parish who lost her son to drug
addiction. She speaks to us in an interview about how her faith in God
is a constant source of hope and strength and how she wants to share
that hope with other parents and families suffering from addiction. For
Trinity Sunday we have a homily and the newsletter insert that explores
the mystery of God as a communion of love that draws us into itself.
Thanks to CMT, we include inter-views with young people from our diocese
who recently went on pilgrimage to Medugorje – an experience that moved
and surprised them. As June begins, we feature Pope Francis’ prayer
intention which is to end the horror of torture. Finally, we have an
article on St Colmcille, one of the patron saints of Ireland, for his
feast day on 9th June. Check out these and other resources available at
www.thehookoffaith.com
