Trócaire

On this first Sunday of the New Year, Trócaire would like to sincerely thank everyone in this parish who supported us over Christmas. The challenges we face are still tough but there are many stories of hope. Thousands of individuals, families and communities will receive the Christmas Global Gifts you bought which will help support themselves and provide for their children. Your help is truly appreciated so on behalf of everyone Trócaire works with around the world we thank you once more and wish you a peaceful 2010.


Study Theology From Home:

The Dominicans are offering a theology programme specifically for lay people, offered by distance learning. This means than one can study for a certificate, diploma, and even more importantly, become more educated in the faith, all from the comfort of home.

Bunclody District & Active Retired:

Membership Fee of €15 for the coming year is now due and will be collected at the next meeting on Jan. 4th or to the treasurer Joan Nally. For Members who are interested in going to the Strauss Gala Concert in the National Concert Hall tickets cost € 42 and bus €10. Early booking is required, contact Kathleen on 087 9623132.

Alcoholics Anonymous

..is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that may solve their common problem and help others to recover form Alcoholism.

Local Meetings: are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8.30 p.m. in Brennans’, Market Square , Bunclody.


Bunclody Library:

Storytime for under 7’s : Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Have fun colouring and listening to popular children’s stories and rhymes.

Senior Chess Club : Thursday form 6.30 p.m. onwards until 9 p.m.

Junior Chess and Board Games Club : Fridays from 3 .00 p.m. for ages 8 –14. All welcome.

English Conversation : Tuesdays 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

Reading Groups for adults and children. Contact library for details.
