TWENTY FOUR HOUR ADORATION
On Sunday next, June 11th, the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood
of Christ, at 5:00 pm a twenty four hour period of Adoration begins.
There will be a brief ceremony to mark the start of the Adoration and it
is hoped that people of the whole parish, including Kilmysahall, will
spend one hour before the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration. Sheets will be
left at the end of the churches to enable people to select a suitable
time for them-selves. It is hoped that people will be very generous,
especially in selecting difficult hours. The focus of the period of
Adoration is to pray intensely for vocations to priesthood and Religious
Life in the diocese of Ferns.
The Adoration will take place in the church. All are encouraged to
drop into the church and spend good time in prayer during the period of
Adoration for the purpose mentioned. The Adoration will continue through
Sunday night and all day Monday apart from Mass time. There will be a
brief ceremony to conclude the adoration at 7:45 p.m. on Monday evening.
May this be a great time of blessing for the whole parish.

Bunclody ICA - New members needed
It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has
always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to
keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the
demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new
members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest
speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet
once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do
not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours
to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going
by so many wonderful women in the past.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Jesus tells us that to have life we need more than physical
nourishment. How have you been aware of deeper hungers? What has met
that deeper longing in you?
Jesus tells us that it is not just something he gives us which will give
us life, but himself in his life, death and resurrection. How has your
faith in the person of Jesus fed you?
Jesus speaks about ‘drawing life’ from him. In day to day living what
are the practices which support your faith and help you to draw life
from Jesus?
The Eucharist is one of the ways in which we draw life from Jesus.
Recall with gratitude how the Eucharist has been a source of nourishment
and life for you. ~
Perhaps you can also think of human examples of people drawing life from
one another. From whom have you drawn life ? Who has been able to draw
life from you?
THE HOOK OF FAITH THIS WEEK
The great feast of Corpus Christi this Sunday is a time to give
thanks for the gift of the Eucharist and its place in the life of every
Christian and faith community. We have a homily and the newsletter
insert on this sublime sacrament. The new census statistics seem to show
faith in Ire-land is in retreat – or is it? An article explores. We have
a reflection on devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for the feast on
16th June which is also the ‘World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification
of Priests’. We feature a new video on the life of the late Donal Walsh
whose tenth anniversary passed on 12th May. Finally, a few tips on how
we can help change a culture of contempt and not succumb to polarisation
and division. Check out these and other resources available at
www.thehookoffaith.com
